Get ready for a horrifying thriller just in time for Halloween. "GEMS" will premiere at 4 p.m. today, Oct. 31, in the Purple Masque Theatre. Admission is free and refreshments will include free pizza.

First-time screenwriter and director, K-State theatre major Will Wright, from "The Elixir of Love" and "Let Me Down Easy," creates a short film that takes place in the heart of Manhattan, Kansas, starring a host of well-known theatre majors and K-State students, Masie Cameron, Ingrid-Eulalia Adriansson, Ryan Teer, Matthew Robison, Lauren Carrero, Blue and Daniel Wright.

"GEMS" lends a refreshing take on the horror-thriller genre. A group of friends set out on a cross-country road trip, but what they find is more than they expected.

A gem is only the beginning!
