Fashion marketing program ranked in top 10 nationwide
K-State has been named one of the Top 10 fashion marketing schools in the country.
The apparel marketing option in the apparel and textiles program in the department of apparel, textiles and interior design was ranked No. 10 out of more than 200 fashion schools by Fashion-schools.org. The group also selected the College of Human Ecology apparel design and production option in the apparel and textiles program No. 29 among the Top 75 fashion design schools.
The department, home to approximately 400 students, offers undergraduate Bachelor of Science degrees in both interior design and apparel and textiles with option areas in apparel marketing and apparel design and production. The department offers a Master of Science degree in apparel and textiles and through Great Plains IDEA offers a Master of Science in merchandising. The doctoral program is an area of specialization within the College of Human Ecology doctoral program.
"This affirmation of the quality of our apparel and textiles program, in the first ranking of fashion schools is great for our students and faculty," said Barbara G. Anderson, head of the department of apparel, textiles and interior design.
The year-old fashion school's goal is to be the most authoritative and comprehensive online resources for aspiring fashion industry professionals. The rankings were made by a team that reviewed more than 200 fashion programs across the United States.
Parsons The New School of Design in New York was ranked first in both categories.
