Registration open: K-State Garden Club for kids
The Kansas State University Gardens invite kids in grades 1-3 to an introduction to gardening. Five 50-minute Saturday sessions from 10-10:50 a.m. starting March 25 are planned to spark interest, present gardening basics and have fun with hands-on activities. Session topics are:
- March 25: What Do Kids and Plants Both Need? Outdoor planting session, bean germination take-home project.
- April 15: How Plants Grow and All About Soil.
- April 22: Pollinators: Flit Like a Butterfly — Buzz Like a Bee.
- May 6: Climates Around the World and Terrariums.
- May 13: Plant Life Cycle and Review with Garden Tour.
Sessions are limited to 20 kids each. Younger children should be accompanied. Sessions are free, but donations are welcome. Registration is necessary. Call 785-532-3271 or email ksugardens@k-state.edu for questions or registration.
