Derby attends White House forum on climate change
Melanie Derby, recipient of the Hal and Mary Siegele Professorship in Engineering and associate professor of mechanical and nuclear engineering, was an invited participant in a White House forum on campus- and community-scale climate change solutions March 8-9 in Washington, D.C.
Hosted by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the forum brought together leaders and educators from colleges and universities across the nation to hear from a group of speakers and panels to showcase innovative actions on climate change currently employed on college campuses.
"I was honored to have the opportunity to participate in this forum," Derby said. "Events like these are great resources for bringing new ideas to our state and communities that have already seen success in other parts of the country."
Derby was the lone representative from the state of Kansas invited to participate. View the recorded webinar.
