Wigfall and Faber to present 'Rhythm is Plaid'
Submitted by Ashley A. Schiffer
LaBarbara Wigfall, associate professor of landscape architecture and regional & community planning, and Andie Faber, assistant professor of modern languages, will present "Rhythm is Plaid" from noon to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 12, via Zoom. The presentation is part of the Teaching and Learning Center's Professional Development Series.
"Rhythm is Plaid" is a 30-minute thought-provoking imagination session meant to encourage participants to reflect on their academic year's teaching experience. It will be divided into three parts:
- What is the difference between rhythm and repetition? An analogy for teaching.
- How regulating lines describe expectations and paths to self-discovery.
- How do creativity and learning relate to life skills?
The meta interpretation of "Rhythm as Plaid" will lead to an open discussion about creative teaching strategies learned this year and appropriate patterns that best describe the experience.
