'Love, Mom and Dad' hazing prevention presentation April 25
Submitted by Alexandria Wilson
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Kansas State University, in partnership with Sigma Phi Epsilon, will present the program "Love, Mom and Dad" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the K-State Student Union Grand Ballroom.
"Love, Mom and Dad" shares personal stories of how hazing impacted the Piazza and Wiant families, and it educates about hazing and hazing prevention and calls for action around hazing prevention. The event is open to all community members, including all Kansas State University student groups.
Hazing can be found in any student group of any size and can cause mental, emotional, and physical harm to an individual. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Sigma Phi Epsilon at K-State invite all fraternity and sorority members, athletes, band and ROTC members, advisors, faculty and staff of any kind to attend.
As the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life begins assisting individual chapters in becoming recognized affiliated student organizations under the new Student Organization Recognition policy beginning August 2023, the office intends to continue to serve the greater university and Manhattan community through programs and resources like "Love, Mom and Dad."
