Seminar on cattle immunology June 18
Timothy Smith of the Genetics, Breeding and Animal Health Unit at the Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Center, or USDA-ARS, U.S. Meat Animal Research Center will visit Manhattan June 18-19.
At 3 p.m. June 18, he will present the seminar "Profiling immune repertoires for characterizing immune responses to infection and vaccination in cattle," at the USDA-ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health Research, 1515 College Ave.
Smith uses genomics tools to improve food animal production. More recently, he is using advanced genetic sequencing, such as the longer reads available with PacBio, in his research program.
