National Strategic Selling Institute recognized by Sales Education Foundation for 12th consecutive year
The National Strategic Selling Institute in Kansas State University's College of Business Administration has been named a top sales university by the Sales Education Foundation for the 12th consecutive year.
The Sales Education Foundation, or SEF, is a nonprofit that seeks to elevate the sales profession by providing sales education through colleges and universities in the U.S. and worldwide.
Dawn Deeter-Schmelz, professor of marketing and J.J. Vanier distinguished chair in Business Administration, built and is currently the director of the National Strategic Selling Institute, or NSSI. Under her leadership, NSSI students have been awarded national recognition in sales competitions, and the institute has been recognized as one of the preeminent sales centers in the nation.
"I am proud that the K-State College of Business Administration National Strategic Selling Institute Sales Program has been named a top sales university by SEF for 12 years in a row," said College of Business Administration Dean Kevin Gwinner. "Since the inception of our NSSI program, Dr. Deeter-Schmelz’s leadership has been extraordinary. She has developed a unique program that focuses on providing students real sales experiences and a curriculum that applies selling skills through role-playing and team competitions. K-State students earning a degree or certificate in strategic selling are ready to succeed in the sales industry, which is demonstrated by a 100% placement rate for our graduates."
The National Strategic Selling Institute is in the College of Business Administration. The program consists of students who are enrolled in the certificate or major in professional strategic selling.
In fall 2018, K-State became just the 19th university in the U.S. to offer a major in professional strategic selling. The certificate in professional strategic selling is open to all majors at the university. This program introduces students to the fundamentals of sales, and the innovative curriculum and sales labs allow students to develop the skills needed to be successful in their careers.
"We are thrilled about the continued accolades from the Sales Education Foundation," said Deeter. "Our faculty have put tremendous effort into developing a forward-thinking curriculum for our hard-working students, and it’s gratifying to have that effort recognized."
