Bruce Snead retirement reception on June 9

A retirement reception for Bruce Snead, director of Engineering Extension, will take place at 3 p.m. June 9 on the third floor of the Unger Complex, 2323 Anderson Ave. Suite 300. Please RSVP online.
Snead became director of Engineering Extension at K-State in 2011 and has been an extension specialist in residential and renewable energy, indoor air quality and radon since 1982. Throughout those years, he has trained thousands of individuals across the nation on the effects of radon.
Snead also served from 1995 to 2011 on the Manhattan City Commission and as mayor four times during that period. Snead has received numerous awards for his accomplishments, including the Lifetime Achievement Award for Mentorship from the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists, the 2018 Radon Hero Award by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, the Friend of the Flint Hills award from the Flint Hills Discovery Center Foundation and numerous others.
