Office of Student Success presents June Sincere Appreciation for Student Success Award
Submitted by Office of Student Succes
The Office of Student Success recognized Emily Miner, student programs coordinator of TRIO Educational Supportive Services, with the Sincere Appreciation for Student Success, or SASS, Award.
Miner was nominated because of her extraordinary leadership during the planning and implementation of the Spring 2023 Explore! Recruitment event. Explore! is designed to demonstrate that college is more than classes, helping prospective students consider how K-State may help them achieve their academic, personal and career goals. Not only did Miner coordinate and connect offices within Student Success, but she was also instrumental in collaborating with campus partners. Despite challenges and changes to the program, Miner's leadership contributed to a smooth and successful event.
Her nominator wrote, "This year, the Explore! planning team had many participants new to the university, which posed challenges in planning and implementation. Emily stepped in as a strong leader … in spite of an already busy workload."
Miner received the Purple Reign trophy to display for this month.
The SASS Award is an initiative of the Office of Student Success to recognize and celebrate the work of those within the Student Success unit. Nominees are recognized for their ability to form campus partnerships; creative problem-solving; influencing campus' climate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and more.
