The College of Veterinary Medicine Staff Council hosted the annual staff appreciation luncheon on April 26. This council represents all unclassified and university support staff in the college. One of the main priorities of the council is to acknowledge staff members for their contributions to the college's mission.
Hana Johnson, admissions recruiter and chair of the staff council, said one way the council chooses to promote the employees is through its annual staff awards program.
"The College of Veterinary Medicine has a team of incredibly talented and dedicated staff, with every employee bringing unique strengths to the table," Johnson said. "The winners of this year's awards were nominated by supervisors and peers across many different departments in the college, which demonstrates not only how much talent the college possesses but also how grateful our employees are to work with each other. While so many more staff members deserve to be recognized for their work, we are also excited to celebrate this year's winners and all they do for the college."
"There are so many deserving staff members. In a few categories, we recognized far more recipients than planned. We were pleased to be able to do it," said Bonnie Rush, Hodes family dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine. "Thank you to the nominators who shared these stories of dedication and commitment. Congratulations to the recipients!"
There are three award categories: High Five; Culture, Collegiality and Compassion; and Commitment to Excellence. Nominations can be submitted by any faculty, staff or administrators in the college, but they must be accompanied by at least two letters of support.
