Science Communication Initiative professional development webinar series begins Aug. 14

The Kansas Science Communication Initiative will present a series of monthly professional development Science Communication Webinars beginning at 10 a.m. CDT Monday, Aug. 14, via Zoom.
Please share this opportunity with others who are interested in learning more about science communication and joining a community of scholars and professionals working in this area. Webinars will be held on the second Monday of the month and will feature scholars from the University of Oregon, Kansas State University, Cornell University and more.
Register online for the Aug. 14 workshop, "Leverage Instructional Design + Mobile Technology for Science Engagement." The workshop's Zoom link will be sent as soon as your registration is received and approved by the coordinator
The session will be led by Jamie Loizzo from the University of Florida.
In this webinar, learn how you — science experts — can apply simple instructional design techniques and cost-effective mobile hardware and software to design and implement science engagement programs for youth and adult audiences. Also, get a behind-the-scenes look at The Streaming Science Project and how college students and scientists work together through project-based learning courses and projects to develop multimedia products and outreach programs with the goal of increasing science literacy and science-based behavior intentions.
