Wood featured on podcasts for Renaissance polyphony article

David Simmons Wood, advanced instructor of music and director of early music ensembles, was recently featured on two high-profile choral and early music podcasts discussing the content of his article, "Toward a Rebirth of Renaissance Choral Music," published in the May 2023 issue of EMAg, the magazine of Early Music America. In the article, Wood discusses a lack of Renaissance choral music programming at the collegiate and pre-college levels, examines reasons for that trend and offers solutions.
Additionally, Wood was featured on the July 17 episode of Early Music Monday hosted by Kameron Kavanaugh and the August 9 episode of the Choralosophy podcast hosted by Chris Munce.
David Simmons Wood is also the founder and director of the annual K-State Recorder Workshop. His performing career has included appearances with the Dallas Bach Society, The Orchestra of New Spain in Dallas, The New York Baroque Dance Company, The New York State Baroque, Texas Choral Artists and Fenix de los Ingenios. He has also performed at the Boston, Indianapolis and Bloomington Early Music Festivals. Wood serves as programs director for Early Music America.
