SAFE Zone to host advanced professional development workshop with Honor and Integrity System
The Kansas State University SAFE Zone program administered by the Department of Student Belonging and Inclusion with Intercultural Learning and Academic Success will host an advanced professional development workshop with the Honor and Integrity System from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, via Zoom.
This faculty and staff workshop will assist those who wish to learn more about the Honor and Integrity System and how to become a better ally for the campus community in relation to investigation and adjudication procedures related to academic integrity. The workshop includes a focus on student, faculty and staff rights and responsibilities, processes of the Honor and Integrity System and advanced knowledge of campus resources and communities with the development of skills to assist students and colleagues.
Please register at this link for the Sept. 19 advanced professional development workshop.
SAFE Zone exists to provide open and affirming spaces throughout the K-State campus where individuals affected by discrimination, violence, hateful acts and other forms of marginalization can go for support and assistance. K-State faculty, staff, students and community members can become SAFE Zone allies as a way to publicly show their commitment to understanding human difference, practicing inclusion and promoting equity across campus and community.
SAFE Zone continues to be part of K-State's efforts to create an open and affirming campus. Allies become educated to help those coming from a variety of backgrounds and identities with needs concerning exclusionary acts like intimidation, micro and macro aggressions, discrimination, LGBTQ-related concerns and sexual violence.
