Opportunity to discuss Horizon Europe research program

K-State faculty and researchers have the opportunity to meet and discuss the EU's Horizon Europe multibillion Euro Research Program and the upcoming calls for proposals. The EU Research, Agriculture and Food Safety delegation is coming to K-State on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
The Office of International Programs has coordinated two sessions with the visiting delegation. Please plan to attend one of the following sessions:
- 11:15 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 4.
- 1:45-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4.
The meetings will take place at the Biosecurity Research Institute, and registration is required before Oct 3.
Florent Bernard, counsellor for research and innovation at the European Union Delegation to the United States of America in Washington, D.C., will lead the delegation, which includes Silke Boger, counsellor for agriculture at the Delegation of the EU to the USA, and Marco Castellina, counsellor for health and safety at the Delegation of the EU to the USA.
Horizon Europe has upcoming calls for proposals under the areas of food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment, which include sub-themes of:
- Fair, healthy and environmentally friendly food systems from primary production to consumption.
- Circular economy and bio-economy sectors.
- Biodiversity and ecosystem services innovative governance.
- Environmental observations and digital solutions in support of the Green Deal.
- Land, ocean and water for climate action.
- Clean environment and zero pollution.
- Resilient, inclusive, healthy and green rural, coastal and urban communities.
Horizon Europe is open to U.S. participants bringing their own funding. However, in some cases and under certain conditions, U.S. participants can receive funding directly from the European Commission.
