New exhibit available at Hale Library
"Caring for Humanity: Celebrating 150 years of the College of Health and Human Sciences," a new exhibit at Kansas State University's Hale Library, celebrates the anniversary of the college's founding.
The exhibit features books, photographs and artifacts from various collections that showcase the rich history of the seven departments that currently make up the college.
Since its creation in 1873, thousands of students have graduated from the College of Health and Human Sciences. The college is an international leader in several program areas, including the teaching of what was once referred to as home economics. Students have gone on to become leaders in family financial planning, fashion, kinesiology, child development and food studies.
"This collaborative exhibit, which is curated by faculty from the Richard L.D. and Marjorie J. Morse Department of Special Collections and other departments in Hale Library, supports several events held by the college," said Roger Adams, rare books librarian and the exhibit coordinator. "We are planning several programs to support the exhibit and the sesquicentennial celebration."
The exhibit is on display in Hale Library's fifth-floor gallery from Oct. 7, 2023, through June 28, 2024. It is free and open to the public.
