National Transfer Week is next week
During the third week of October, institutions of higher education celebrate National Transfer Week. This annual recognition exists to challenge assumptions, provide resources and instill transfer pride on college campuses across the country.
This year, Kansas State University has planned a weeklong slate of activities for National Transfer Week.
Monday: Transfer Champion Recognition kick-off.
The transfer journey would not be possible without the members of our K-State faculty, staff and administration who dedicate themselves to the success of transfer students and go above and beyond to support them. Throughout National Transfer Week, we recognize these individuals as our K-State Transfer Champions.
Tuesday: Transfer Visit Day.
Transfer students attending Transfer Visit Day receive information about transfer requirements, have an opportunity to speak with an academic advisor from their field of study, explore their programs of interest, and connect and learn from current K-State transfer students.
Wednesday: K-State Transfer Partner Award announcement.
Watch for the announcement of the inaugural recipient of the K-State Transfer Partner Award. This is a recognition of a community college advisor, faculty, staff or administrator who has supported transfer students and has been a strong advocate for K-State.
Thursday: Transfer student social.
Join the K-State Transfer Team for an evening of food, music, games and prizes. Build community with your fellow transfer students and celebrate how your experiences contribute to the diverse community of K-State. The event will run from 6-8:30 p.m. on Bosco Plaza. All are welcome.
Friday: Powercat Preview.
Powercat Preview provides a big-picture preview of the K-State experience. This day is designed for students who are not yet admitted to K-State and offers exploratory academic and general information sessions.
