Attend presentation from Mayo Clinic Care Network
The kinesiology department and Kinesiology Student Association will host Stormont Vail Health and the Mayo Clinic Care Network for a guest lecture by Karen Helfinstine and Robert Morreale.
Helfinstine and Morreale will present "Preparing Graduates for the Future in Health Care: What makes a successful candidate in the health care workforce of the future" at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Room 227 of the K-State Student Union.
Helfinstine, vice chair of education administration, has more than 20 years of health care experience both internal and external to Mayo Clinic. In her current role, Helfinstine collaborates with education physicians, scientists and administration leaders throughout Mayo Clinic to help transform Mayo Clinic's mission and Mayo Clinic Education's vision into daily operations throughout the Education Shield.
Morreale is the senior division chair of immersive and experiential learning at Mayo Clinic and an assistant professor of biomedical communications at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. His expertise is in creative thinking, visual storytelling and biomedical and scientific illustration. Currently, Morreale is focused on developing immersive and experiential learning strategies to help Mayo Clinic evolve as a learning organization, influencing and facilitating the right people in the right environment and transforming the delivery of medical education through real-life simulation-based environments.
