College of Health and Human Sciences seeks applicants for interim associate dean for research

The College of Health and Human Sciences is seeking applicants to serve as the interim associate dean for research. This is an internal search.
The interim associate dean will be a vital member of the dean's administrative team and is part of the Dean's Administrative Council. The position will be a 0.4 FTE appointment as an administrator in the College of Health and Human Sciences and will report directly to the interim dean. Split appointments across colleges are encouraged.
It is expected the associate dean for research will be a collegial member of the dean's office and regularly collaborate on projects with students, faculty, department heads, program directors, the other associate and assistant deans and other members of the dean's office. As part of the dean's leadership team, this position will participate in strategic planning for the college, budget decisions and management of large grant projects — federal grant experience is especially important, among other leadership responsibilities.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and coordination for undergraduate research and scholarly activities.
- Advance scholarly and research activities within HHS to enhance competitiveness for federal and state funding.
- Identify and promote interdisciplinary research between the college and other units at the university.
- Work with the web designer to maintain the Health and Human Sciences research tab on the website.
- Other duties as assigned by the interim dean.
At the rank of associate or full professor, this position has an anticipated start date of January 2024, with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
