Application deadline nears for Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates
Kansas State University, in partnership with Montclair State University, won a USDA Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates grant to provide a 11-week paid internship focused on addressing complex sustainability challenges for companies, nonprofits and community organizations.
Aptly named the 2024 Green Teams Internship Program, the program will pair groups of five students with companies and/or community organizations to find solutions to problems limiting the sustainability of their enterprises. Ten students — two teams — are being recruited specifically to work on sustainability projects in the agriculture and food systems sector. Those teams will spend two of the 11 weeks in Kansas, giving team members from other regions an introduction to Kansas agriculture to contrast with the primarily urban experiences they will have in New Jersey.
The summer 2024 Green Teams Internship Program is hosted in New Jersey and runs from May 28-Aug. 8. This 11-week program pays a $6,000 stipend plus housing. Travel grants are also available. The application deadline is this Sunday, January 28.
