Laboratory Safety Awareness Week is Feb. 12-16

The Kansas State University Department of Environmental Health and Safety, in partnership with campus and community collaborators, is observing Laboratory Safety Awareness Week, Feb. 12-16.
Laboratory Safety Awareness Week is dedicated to recognizing the importance and successes of laboratory safety programs and to offering ideas, training and resources to help keep faculty, staff and students safe as they conduct research and laboratory operations.
The week will include presentations and events with in-person and virtual attendance options available. Faculty, staff, students and the university community are encouraged to attend. Those who attend are eligible for certifications and prizes.
Keynote speaker Alfonso Clavijo, director of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility, or NBAF, will present "Enhancing NBAF's Safety Culture Through High-Reliability Organization Principles."
