Kurt Foley achieves certified measurement and verification professional designation
Kurt Foley, with Engineering Extension's Kansas Energy Program, achieved full status as a certified measurement and verification professional, or CMVP, through the Association of Energy Engineers.
Foley passed the CMVP exam in March 2022, but the certification is closely tied to the Association of Energy Engineers' certified energy manager, or CEM, designation. Due to the association's stringent requirements for the CMVP designation, Foley was considered as an CMVP in-training only until he completed four years of service in an energy-related field and became a fully-certified CEM, which Foley achieved earlier this year.
Foley has worked with the Kansas Energy Program to provide energy assessments for agricultural producers and rural small businesses in Kansas, and he has assisted those entities in applying for the USDA Rural Energy for America Program grants. Foley also provides technical assistance to the Kansas Facility Conservation Improvement Program, where government entities can implement energy efficiency measures using guaranteed energy savings.
"We are extremely proud of Kurt's accomplishment," said David Carter, director of Engineering Extension. "He has diligently put in the time required for CMVP certification and is an incredible asset."
The Kansas Energy Program now has three CEMs and three CMVPs.
