Nutrition graduate students funded for research projects
Five graduate students in K-State's food, nutrition, dietetics and health department have been awarded funds for their research projects.
Sidharth Babu, Chelsea Olson and Gongshun Yang, master's students in nutrition, dietetics and sensory sciences, received the Ross Fellowship in Sensory Analysis Award for their proposed work, "Optimization of Consumer Acceptance of Lucuma Ice Cream using Mixture Design," "Rated Sweetness of Infant Formulas and Childhood Anthropometric Measures," and "Developing a Comprehensive Framework for Understanding and Measuring Product Freshness in the Aromatic Products Development."
Kaori Kobayashi and Rose Anglamega Seidu, doctoral students in food, nutrition, dietetics and health, received the Ruby Scott Excellence Fund in Human Nutrition Award for their proposed work, "Enhancing Health and Aging: Uncovering Bioactive Antioxidants in Wheat Bran," and "Infant Feeding Project — Breastfeeding."
