TLC Professional Development Series: Exploring Open Pedagogy
Submitted by Ashley A. Schiffer
Colby Moorberg, associate professor of agronomy, will present "Exploring open pedagogy: How to engage students using OER-enabled renewable assignments" from noon to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 6, via Zoom. The presentation is part of the Teaching and Learning Center's Professional Development Series.
Open pedagogy is an approach to teaching that allows students to become knowledge creators rather than only knowledge consumers. Open pedagogy involves students creating open educational resources, or OER, which facilitates learning by the student, their classmates, future students and others. The seminar will include an overview of OER and open pedagogy, examples of open pedagogy activities, and ample time for breakout and group discussions as part of a scoping exercise to help participants plan their own open pedagogy activities.
