Amanda McDiffett named assistant vice president of HR operations
Amanda McDiffett has been hired as assistant vice president of HR operations following a nationwide search, effective April 1.
The assistant vice president of HR operations will work closely with the chief human resources officer and assistant vice president of HR strategy to develop and guide the future of human resources at K-State. This role is responsible for implementing timely regulatory changes to HR service departments and providing exceptional support to stakeholders universitywide. McDiffett is a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who possesses the tools necessary to guide human resources and the university toward our goal of operational excellence.
"Amanda's breadth of higher education human resources experience and institutional knowledge are going to be a huge asset to Human Resources," said Shanna Legleiter, chief human resources officer. "I look forward to Amanda's leadership to elevate HR operations along with her partnership to help drive HR initiatives in support of the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan."
McDiffett has an impressive 16-year history with K-State and is currently the budget fiscal officer for the College of Business Administration, a position she's held since 2020. Before that, she served in various roles of progressive responsibility in human resources, formerly Human Capital Services, and the College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a collaborative strategic thinker and is focused on what the future can bring to K-State employees, students and the university.
McDiffett obtained her bachelor's degree in personal financial planning with a minor in business administration from K-State. She completed her master's degree in organizational leadership from Baker University. She also holds a number of professional certifications, including Lean Six Sigma and Professional in Human Resources through HRCI, and she's an SHRM-certified professional.
