Transfer records to the university archives
Did you know that university records you create as part of your job might need to be transferred to the university archives?
The university archives serve as a valuable repository for records pertaining to the institution's history, catering to the research needs of administration, faculty, staff, students and the public. Ensuring the transfer of records to the archives is a crucial step, as it facilitates future research endeavors for staff and faculty members. By preserving and granting access to these records, we contribute to the continuity of knowledge and support ongoing scholarly pursuits within the university community and beyond.
As part of K-State's Records and Information Management Month campaign, university archives staff encourage you to transfer your university records to the university archives if you are retiring, leaving the university or your office retention schedule designates your records as archival.
Records transferred to the university archives are stored within secure spaces, ensuring their preservation for the benefit of future generations. Individuals or entities who choose to transfer their records are welcome to request access to view them at their convenience. We provide free access for any unit, college or person who wishes to view them. To view the collections, you can visit the collection database or contact the archives reference desk at libsc@k-state.edu.
