Mechanical and nuclear engineering department presents its graduate student awards

The Alan Levin Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering hosted a luncheon and award celebration for its graduate students on May 2.

Each year, the department presents its Outstanding GTA and GRA awards, as well as the Lu and Azer scholarships. Department faculty nominate and vote on graduate students who they deem most exceptional for the Most Outstanding GTA and GRA Awards. Graduate students apply for the Lu and Azer scholarships, and department faculty vote on those recipients. The award and scholarship recipients were announced by Steven Eckels, department head, and Mingjun Wei, graduate program director.

Congratulations to all mechanical and nuclear engineering nominated graduate students, and to the outstanding award and scholarship winners: 

• Michael Akinseloyin, Naim Z. and Beverly J. Azer Mechanical Engineering Graduate Scholarship. 
• Adib Rahman and Arijit Roy, Pau-Chang Lu Mechanical Engineering Graduate Scholarships. 
• Jack Pakkebier, Outstanding Graduate Research Assistant. 
• Zakary Oster, Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant.
