Planning for Open House 2025 begins
In April, the Office of Recruitment and Admissions hosted the largest Open House since 2019.
An Open House kick-off meeting will take place at 2 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the Berney Family Welcome Center to discuss timeline, tracks and outcomes, and more. A calendar invite will be sent out via the Open House listserv. If you are not on the listserv and would like to be added please email kstateoh@k-state.edu.
The use of tracks and outcomes were added in 2024 to enhance guests' experience. Outcomes provided goals for the department and organizations to achieve. These included the following: students will begin to envision themselves as part of the Wildcat family; participants will be exposed to engaging programs and activities that showcase the university's offerings; students will build an affinity to an academic area of interest.
The Open House schedule included icons for each track — Admitted Wildcat, Future Wildcat, kindergarten-eighth grade and Manhattan community/K-State alumni — listed after each event. This helped guests plan their day and find activities dedicated to each group.
This year, a pre-registration option was also offered. 2,201 guests registered. The K-State Student Union's traffic report noted 7,710 door opens, making Open House 2024 the most well-attended Open House since 2019. We are excited to see the numbers grow in 2025.
