Denison Avenue closed July 15-25
Submitted by Division of Facilities
The city of Manhattan will close Denison Avenue between Anderson Avenue and Claflin Road from July 15-25 for road repaving and curb repairs.
During the road closure, the D1 parking lot will remain open north of St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center and west of Memorial Stadium. The only access to the parking lot will be along Sunset Avenue. The Denison Avenue entrance and exit will be closed. Once you have parked your car in D1, you must use the Anderson Avenue and College Heights Road crosswalks to access campus.
Cats' Cupboard will remain open during the construction. The roadway to Cats' Cupboard will be closed. The sidewalks will remain open.
The Wefald Hall crosswalk will be closed. Pedestrians can use the crosswalk at Denison Avenue and Claflin Road.
Parking lot A28 between Ackert Hall and Rathbone Hall will be open from July 15-21. You can access A28 only via Platt Street. The Denison Avenue entrance and exit will be closed.
Platt Street and the pedestrian crossing will be closed from July 22-25, and A28 will also be closed. For those who usually park in the ADA stalls in lot A28, the nearest alternative during the closure will be the stalls along College Heights Road on the south side of Durland Hall and the north side of Ahearn Field House. You can access those stalls via North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Other parking options available during the A28 closure include lots A1, A2, A17, B17, B18 and D1. Remember that during the summer, parking services allow parking in the O lots (green) with a W (red) permit.
Follow the pedestrian detours during the Denison Avenue closure. Be careful when walking across Denison Avenue during the project due to the large trucks, equipment and hot asphalt.
