Communicators' Brown Bag Sept. 18 to focus on video news distribution
The Communicators' Brown Bag will kick off the fall semester with its first event Wednesday, Sept. 18. Topics to be covered include a new video news model and an update on what K-State Research and Extension is doing with video distribution. The brown bag will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Flint Hills Room, K-State Student Union.
Lindsey Elliott, news video specialist, Division of Communications and Marketing, will talk about how she's providing video of K-State experts to TV news stations and garnering national coverage of the university as a result. She'll walk thorough what a typical day is for her and the level
of success to date.
Brad Beckman, communications specialist, department of communications and agricultural education, will present K-State Research and Extension's video strategies. This includes providing video news stories to news programs in Kansas and nationally, and through online avenues, primarily social media. Many of the videos produced are used by K-State Research and Extension staff across the state in their programming efforts also.
The Communicators Brown Bag series is designed to inform and connect communicators across campus. Mark your calendar for our upcoming brown bag events, Oct. 17 and Nov. 21. Same time, same location. Topics to be announced.
