K-State Blue Key scholarships — applications now open

Submitted by Matthew Moore

Kansas State University's Blue Key Senior Honorary is dedicated to recognizing and supporting outstanding students through more than $13,000 in scholarships annually. These scholarships are designed to honor students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, academic excellence and commitment to the K-State community.

Blue Key scholarships are open to students who will be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students in fall 2025. These awards provide financial assistance while celebrating the impact students have made on campus and in their communities.

These scholarships are sponsored by Blue Key as part of its mission to recognize and support outstanding students. Receiving one of these scholarships does not grant membership or access to the Blue Key Senior Honorary.

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
  • Submit an unofficial transcript and a one-page resume.
  • Meet the specific criteria for their selected scholarship(s).

Current and past Blue Key members are ineligible. Students may apply for multiple scholarships but may only interview for one.

A selection committee of Blue Key members and alumni will review all applications. After an initial screening, finalists will be invited for interviews to discuss their leadership, service and academic achievements. Each finalist will interview for only one scholarship, even if they applied for multiple awards.

Important dates and deadlines:

  • Application deadline: 11:59 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Interview notifications: Applicants will be informed of their interview status by Sunday, March 9.
  • Interviews: 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 31. Interviews will last 10-15 minutes.

Receiving a Blue Key-sponsored scholarship is an opportunity to be recognized for your contributions to the university and receive financial support for your continued success. These awards honor students who embody leadership, service and academic achievement — core values of K-State and Blue Key.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact Matthew Moore, director of scholarships and Mistler Fellows, at mattmoore@k-state.edu or visit the Blue Key scholarship website.
