Changes in transfer and online recruitment leadership

Submitted by Office of Enrollment Management

The Office of Recruitment and Admissions announces staffing changes within the transfer and online team, further advancing K-State's commitment to student success as a next-gen land-grant institution. These changes reflect our dedication to enhancing pathways for transfer, online and nontraditional students while strengthening partnerships with community colleges.

Andrew Wimp has been appointed as the associate director for transfer, online and adult populations. In this role, Wimp will oversee recruitment and admissions for all undergraduate students who are not traditional freshmen, including transfer students, online learners, military-connected students and nontraditional adult learners. Having served as the assistant director for transfer recruitment for the past three years, Wimp has led the implementation of new programming for prospective students and community college partners, as well as the development of a universitywide articulation agreement process to streamline transfer pathways across Kansas.

Courtney Carlton has been named assistant director for transfer recruitment, succeeding Wimp in this role. Carlton has served for the past two and-a-half years as the coordinator for transfer transition programs, where she oversaw significant growth in the DirectLink dual advising program and played a key role in the creation and launch of K-State’s new transfer pathway tools. In her new position, Carlton will lead initiatives such as articulation agreements, Transfer Visit Days, the Transfer Summit, Phi Theta Kappa relations, and the supervision of Transfer Navigators. She will also oversee the coordinator for transfer transition programs, who manages key transition efforts, including the Dual Admission Program, Transfer Equivalency and Pathways, the Transfer Educator Newsletter and National Transfer Student Week.

These changes are effective immediately. Faculty, staff and external partners should note that responsibilities previously handled by Wimp may now be directed to Carlton. Both Wimp and Carlton are available to answer any questions and can be reached by email.

This transition supports K-State’s ongoing efforts to strengthen recruitment, partnerships and student support within the transfer and online space.
