North Campus Corridor architect selection presentations today
As your student body president, it is my responsibility to represent the student voice in many different areas across campus. One of those duties is to serve on the North Campus Corridor Master Plan Task Force. It has been a pleasure to serve with this group and I want to share with you an opportunity to learn more about the development of the northern side of our campus.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, four architect/planning consultant firms will give presentations on their vision to develop an integrated master plan for the North Campus Corridor to meet future campus needs and expansion. Each presentation will last one hour and will take place in the Alumni Center Ballroom. The interviews are open and all are welcome to attend.
The presentation schedule is:
- 8:30–9:30 a.m., Perkins & Will
- 10–11 a.m., Broaddus Planning
- 1–2 p.m., Cannon Design
- 2:30–3:30 p.m., Stantec Architecture, SHW Group
The North Campus Corridor is the area encompassed by the boundaries of North Manhattan Avenue on the east, Claflin Road on the south, College Avenue on the west and north of Kimball Avenue to include the KSU Foundation property.
In late spring 2014, Kansas State University President Kirk Schulz appointed the North Campus Corridor Master Plan Task Force. The task force's charge was to work with an outside consultant to integrate the existing master plans for various units at the university and affiliated organizations to ensure cohesiveness across all of the plans within or bordering the North Campus Corridor. These plans include those from Kansas State University, the College of Veterinary Medicine, housing and dining services, KSU Foundation and K-State Athletics.
