Nepalese Student Association celebrated Dashain at K-State
The Kansas State University Nepalese Student Association celebrated its greatest festival, Dashain, from 6-10 p.m. Oct. 4 at Jardine's Frith Community Center. Dashain is a festival of joy and celebrates the victory of truth over evil.
Approximately 100 Nepalese people and their guests gathered together for cultural dances, delicious Nepalease cuisines and association's new T-shirt. The festival is one of the association's many events through out the year.
Tej Shrestha, the association's advisor, said they would like to foster diversity at the university and encourage members to invite friends to the association's events so that other communities would get a chance to learn about the Nepalease culture.
