Interior design senior earns national competition honor
Foster Kutner, senior in interior design, was one of five students recognized with an honorable mention in the recent 2014 NEXT student design competition sponsored by Steelcase Inc.
Nearly 800 students from throughout the United States and Canada submitted designs for future active-learning environments in higher education.
"My concept and design of NEXT University served to encourage students to think, understand and imagine the possibilities for their future. The development of a strong concept that would be reflected in every design decision, was essential to the success of the project," Foster said.
Emma Wilson, senior in interior design, also represented the apparel, textiles, and interior design department in the College of Human Ecology.
Faculty advisers were Hyung-Chan Kim, associate professor, and Julia Day, assistant professor.
