Women's basketball celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day Wednesday
The athletic department will celebrate the 26th anniversary of National Girls and Women in Sports Day as the Kansas State women's basketball team takes on Iowa State in Bramlage Coliseum at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The day is celebrated in all 50 states with community-based events, award ceremonies and activities honoring the achievements and encouraging participation of girls and women in sports.
K-State will provide youth basketball players age 14 and under wearing their team jersey with a free general admission ticket to the game between the Wildcats and Cyclones. Beginning at 6 p.m. on the Bramlage Coliseum concourse, there will be meet-and-greets and demonstrations with K-State student-athletes and coaches from the K-State women's track and cross country teams, the women's golf team, equestrian, rowing and volleyball.
K-State student admission is FREE with student ID.
