Craig Harms elected vice president of American College of Sports Medicine
Craig Harms, professor and head of the kinesiology department in the College of Human Ecology, has been elected as vice president of the American College of Sports Medicine.
The organization is the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world, representing a collaboration of basic scientists, physicians, educators and other health care providers. With more than 60,000 members and certified professionals worldwide, the American College of Sports Medicine is dedicated to advancing and integrating scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine to improve human health, performance and well-being.
Harms has been a member of American College of Sports Medicine for nearly 25 years and became a fellow in 1999. He has recently served on the board of trustees and as the associate editor in chief of the organization's journal, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.
He begins his vice presidential duties at the conclusion of the 2015 American College of Sports Medicine Annual Meeting in May in San Diego. The American College of Sports Medicine is headquartered in Indianapolis.
