Undergraduate scholarships to be awarded by Blue Key
Each year, the K-State chapter of Blue Key Honor Society awards more than $10,000 worth of scholarships from seven different categories for the 2016-2017 academic year. All K-State undergraduates are eligible to apply to receive a scholarship. The online application is due at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 10.

The Robert Lewis Sophomore Leadership Award: This is awarded to a student who will be of sophomore standing as of fall 2016, who has exhibited leadership at the high school and university level, and who has displayed extraordinary potential for future development and service to the university. Please include an essay of 500 words or less about your leadership roles in the past, present and future and why you selected each.
The Neal Atkinson Junior Leadership Scholarship: This scholarship is being awarded to a student who will be of junior standing as of fall 2016 and who has demonstrated outstanding service. Please attach an essay of 500 words or less about your service to the university community including the importance of leadership, citizenship and moral integrity.
The Chester E. Peters Student Development Award: This scholarship is awarded to a student who will be of junior standing as of fall 2016 and who has contributed in an especially positive way to the development of other students. Please attach an essay of 500 words or less about your outstanding qualities of leadership, citizenship, moral integrity, service and how your university experiences have encouraged, supported and participated in the development of fellow students.
Roy C. Langford Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is given to a student who will be of junior standing as of fall 2016 and who exhibits outstanding academic performance as well as financial need. Please attach an essay of 500 words or less about the qualities you possess to have achieved outstanding academic performance.
Greg Hardin Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is being awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship, leadership, citizenship and service. Awarded with preference to students in the College of Engineering. Please attach an essay of 500 words or less about how you have demonstrated these qualities within your academic college and university environment.
The Walter Martin Memorial Scholarship: This is awarded to a student who has exhibited outstanding qualities of scholarship, leadership, citizenship and service. Please attach an essay of 500 words or less about why you excel in these areas and how these qualities will be used in your future endeavors.
Blue Key Study Abroad: This scholarship is awarded to a student who will be studying abroad for at least one semester during the next academic year. Please attach an essay of 500 words or less about how your experiences abroad will enhance your leadership skills.
