Berhow promoted to associate vice president of strategic communications at the KSU Foundation
After a national search, Susan Berhow has been promoted to associate vice president of strategic communications for the Kansas State University Foundation. Prior to her promotion, Berhow was the assistant director of communications and served as the interim director.
Berhow has nearly 20 years of experience in higher education communications. She has worked for the foundation as the assistant director of communications for the past 10 years. Previously, she worked for University Publications at Kansas State University, the marketing office at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, and as a reporter and features editor for the Killeen Daily Herald newspaper in Killeen, Texas.
Berhow is a native of Houston, Texas. She received her bachelor's in communications from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and her master's in mass communications from Kansas State University.
"Susan's time as interim director offered many great challenges, including the welcoming of new leadership, moving into a new facility and taking the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign public," said Greg Willems, president and CEO of the KSU Foundation. "She has shown incredible professional growth and the ability to flex to address emerging opportunities. Susan will now be fully empowered in leading her team to amplify our brand identity and support our growing strategic communications platforms."
"Ms. Berhow is a consummate professional and has been a valuable member of the Kansas State University One Voice team," said Jeff Morris, vice president of communications and marketing at K-State. "We look forward to her continued leadership as we work together to help the university achieve its aspirational goals for 2025. She has been and will continue to be a great partner."
Linda Cook, associate vice president of communications for the K-State Alumni Association, also looks forward to continuing to partner with Berhow as the leader of the foundation's communications team. "Susan is a talented communications professional with proven leadership, organizational and collaborative skills that will make her an asset in this position," said Cook.
