Hohn awarded professorship in chemical engineering
Keith Hohn, professor of chemical engineering, has been appointed as the William H. Honstead Professor in Chemical Engineering. The professorship was established to honor William H. Honstead and to provide financial support for a distinguished faculty member in the chemical engineering department at Kansas State University.
Hohn specializes in research and instruction related to catalysis and reaction engineering, natural gas and biomass conversion, single-molecule studies of catalysts, millisecond contact time reactors and nanoparticle catalysts.
He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and a doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota, both in chemical engineering. He joined the faculty at Kansas State University in 1999 as an assistant professor of chemical engineering.
Hohn is a member in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Society for Engineering Education and the American Chemical Society. Among his many awards from the college are the Dean's Award of Excellence, Segebrecht Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award, James L. Hollis Memorial Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, Charles H. Scholer Outstanding Faculty Award and Myers-Alford Memorial Teaching Award. He also was awarded a Senior Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Research Council at Katholieke Universiteit, Leuven, Belgium, where he spent a semester on sabbatical in 2015.
