Registration deadline is April 1 for K-State's Meat Science Association BBQ contest
Attention all BBQ enthusiasts: Kansas State's Meat Science Association, an official student organization, will host its annual student BBQ contest Saturday, April 16. Students will have a chance to win trophies and other prizes. This is a great opportunity to practice your cooking skills and have fun with friends. The registration deadline is April 1.
This year will include a student and greek division. Each team should consist of three to six people. The registration fee is $25 for the student division and $50 for the greek division. The fee will include breakfast, charcoal, wood chips and meat to smoke.
Don't have a grill? The Meat Science Association can provide any team with a charcoal grill on a first-come, first-served basis. A short informative meeting will take place Friday, April 15, for students to learn more about food safety, meat cookery and prepare any products before the contest.
Teams will prepare chicken thighs, pork loin and beef tri-tip and present their creations to a panel of judges. Pick up a registration form in the meat science graduate office in 216 Weber Hall.
