Mortar Board hosting The Reading Run 5K run/walk April 30

Submitted by Emily P Stolfus

K-State's Mortar Board Senior Honor Society will host The Reading Run 5K Run/Walk at Northeast Community Park in Manhattan to benefit the nonprofit organization Ethiopia Reads. Mortar Board's goal is to raise awareness and support for this incredible group, which focuses on sustainable literacy initiatives through professional development, the planting of libraries, and a variety of athletic partnerships/activities.

Register online or in person at the Leadership Studies Building from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28-29. All racers are invited to come dressed as their favorite book character — a prize will be awarded — and bring a children's book to donate. The K-State organization with the most participation will win a trophy cup filled with coupons, gift cards and other goodies.
