College of Business Administration students matched with peer mentors
The College of Business Administration Peer Mentor Program has matched 60 new business students with 43 peer mentors who are returning student leaders in the college.
In its third year, the program aims to provide new students with a positive peer role model during their first semester. Peer mentors assist new students in achieving semester goals, getting acquainted with campus resources and opportunities, and navigating student life. Continuing business students applied and interviewed for a peer mentor position in early spring and received formal training in March and April.
Among the new students matched with a peer mentor, 14 are multicultural students, 14 are transfer students, 11 are first-generation students, five are nontraditional students and two are international students.
New students in the College of Business Administration who are interested in working with a peer mentor can contact Erica Lienemann at elienemann@k-state.edu or 785-532-2442 for more information.
