Career Center focuses on National Career Development Month through four phases
During the month of November, the Career Center is focusing on the four phases of career readiness as part of National Career Development Month.
The Career Center is focusing on the explore phase Nov. 1-4. Featured speaker Jade Perry will to dive into the topic of expressing your identity in the workplace at 4 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Berney Family Welcome Center Theater.
The Career Center also offers a career planning class, EDCEP 120, to help students choose a major, explore careers and learn how to use the K-State career resources. Students should visit the Career Center website to find start dates for the course.
The week of Nov. 7-11 focuses on the development phase. Students are encouraged to utilize their Career Center accounts to search for jobs and internships, post their resumes for employers to view and find contact information for hundreds of companies and recruiters.
The third week of November focuses on the tell phase. Students can visit the Career Center for a brief resume critique. Daytime Drop-ins are from 12-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For a more in-depth look at their resume, students should schedule an appointment with their advisor. The Career Center also offers a variety of resume resources online.
For the week of Nov. 21-25, the Career Center will focus on the connect phase. For this phase, students should look into the variety of Career Fairs offered throughout the year. Students can visit the Career Center website for more information on networking opportunities and tips.
The Career Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located in the Berney Family Welcome Center.
