Deadline for engineering internship application approaching
The K-State Pollution Prevention Institute at 2323 Anderson Ave., Suite 300, is still accepting student online applications for its Pollution Prevention Intern Program for summer 2017. The deadline for applications is Jan. 31.
Students enrolled in engineering or science programs at an accredited college or university in Kansas and who have at least a junior standing at the start of their internship summer, are eligible to apply for an intern position. These paid internships provide students with real-world experience.
Highlights of the P2 intern program include:
- $17/hour during the 11-week summer program.
- Pollution prevention training, with practical exercises and hands-on training.
- Opportunity to work with industry on real-world pollution prevention and engineering projects.
- Case study presentations to representatives of numerous agencies and departments, all of which are prospective employers.
Students must be interested in any of the following areas: water conservation, chemical processing, manufacturing processes, water treatment, solid waste, biological waste treatment, energy, HVAC, compressors and energy and environmental auditing.
