Staley School of Leadership offers LEAD 405 during summer 2017
The Staley School of Leadership Studies will offer a summer session of LEAD 405 Leadership in Practice. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with Mandela Washington Fellows and the Young African Leaders Initiative, or YALI.
YALI empowers young African leaders through academic coursework, leadership training, mentoring, networking, professional opportunities and support for activities in their communities.
Beginning in mid-June, the Staley School of Leadership Studies will host 25 of Africa's brightest emerging civic leaders for a six-week academic and leadership institute.
Students will have the opportunity to complete the third course in the leadership studies minor by collaborating and engaging with the Mandela Washington Fellows. This eight-week course will meet regularly for the first half of the summer and then have nonstandard meeting times for the remainder of the summer. LEAD 405 provides an excellent opportunity to have a global experience without ever leaving the country.
Enrollment in this course will be recognized as a required course for any student in the leadership studies minor.
