Stop by Chipotle today to support Project EXCELL

Submitted by Clara Wicoff

Come to Chipotle between 5-9 p.m. Thursday, April 13, to support Project EXCELL. Show the event flyer on your smartphone or tell the cashier that you're supporting Project EXCELL to make sure that 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Project EXCELL.

The UFM Community Learning Center provides funding for Project EXCELL, a community-based program designed for adults with special needs. Through Project EXCELL, individuals with special needs ages 18 and older take classes each Saturday at Kansas State University. The essential program provides both personal enrichment and life skills classes to these individuals.

K-State students in the honors leadership class taught by Marcia Hornung are working to raise funds for the Project EXCELL graduation ceremony, as well as the classes provided by Project EXCELL.

The graduation ceremony will be May 6 for the individuals who participated in Project EXCELL. Each student and his or her family members are invited to receive a diploma, enjoy refreshments and watch a picture video of the classes.

Proceeds will be used to cover refreshments and entertainment from Willie the Wildcat and the K-State Marching Band.
