Accounting professor Amy Hageman named KPMG faculty fellow

The Kansas State University College of Business Administration has named Amy Hageman as its new KPMG faculty fellow in the department of accounting.

After a competitive search, Hageman was unanimously selected by a search committee comprised of College of Business Administration faculty and in consultation with KPMG because of her track record as an excellent educator and researcher. She has been a part of the college's faculty for the past seven years, starting as an assistant professor of accounting in 2010, before being promoted to associate professor in 2015.

"Amy Hageman is an exceptional colleague and faculty member," said Brett Wilkinson, head of the department of accounting. "She is an outstanding and dedicated teacher and a nationally accomplished researcher in the accounting field. Her appointment as the KPMG faculty fellow is a well-deserved honor."

Hageman has been the recipient of multiple awards and honors during her time at K-State, including the Kennedy and Coe Department of Accounting Outstanding Research Award in 2016, 2014 and 2011; CBA Outstanding Contribution to Research Award in 2014; and the CBA's Kansas State Bank Teaching Excellence Award in 2013. She also has served on several committees at both the college and university level, providing invaluable service to the university.

Hageman also is extremely active in the academic community serving on several national committees and as a reviewer for several prominent accounting journals. She is currently the chair of the American Accounting Association Public Interest Section. She also serves as an editorial board member of both Behavioral Research in Accounting and the Journal of the American Taxation Association, and as the associate editor of the journals Accounting and the Public Interest and Advances in Accounting Behavioral Research.
