Second Stop the Bleed training offered on campus Sept. 25

Representatives from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment trauma program will offer training for students, faculty and staff Sept. 25 at the K-State Student Union.
No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. Those nearest to someone with life-threatening injuries are best positioned to provide first care. Stop the Bleed training teaches you proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use your hands, dressings and tourniquets to save someone's life or your own.
Two different training courses will be offered Sept. 25:
• Stop the Bleed training, EHS101, 1:30-4 p.m. in the Flint Hills Room of the K-State Student Union.
• Stop the Bleed Train-the-Trainer sessions, EHS102, 9 a.m. to noon in the Flint Hills Room of the K-State Student Union.
