Submitted by Deans' Office in Arts and Sciences
Interested in learning about medical laboratory science? Do you want to be in health care but do not want to be a physician or a nurse?
Two students in the medical laboratory science program at North Kansas City Hospital will be on campus at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, in 301 Calvin Hall. You do not need to RSVP to attend.
Medical laboratory scientists analyze fluid and tissue samples from the human body and provide data for patient diagnosis and treatment. It is estimated that 70-80 percent of medical decisions on any one patient are a direct result of laboratory test data.
The average salary for new graduates is above $50,000 and most students have multiple job offers before graduation.
